Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Surgery General Department

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Post Surgery General Department.

• Educate patients and families through the continuum of care, advancing their knowledge and skills with guidance from senior nurses and the Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Serve as a role model to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
• Demonstrate professionalism, adhere to ANA standards of practice, and exemplify Adventist Health Care values in nursing mission and vision.
• Use equipment and technology correctly, delegate non‑nursing duties appropriately, and maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify impending changes in patient condition accurately and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues, and team members in patient‑centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Conduct efficient literature searches and apply findings appropriately to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in evidence‑based changes of practice.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing score on NCLEX.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.
