Job TitleRegistered Nurse – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job TypeContract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | 3x12-Hour Shifts, Mids (15:30–04:00) | Every Other Weekend Required | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department serving all age ranges, including neonates
- Manage and monitor patients presenting with chest pain, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, respiratory illness, and respiratory arrest
- Operate specialized equipment including Belmont rapid infuser in trauma, Giraffe warmer for neonates, and Lucas device for cardiac arrests
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:4, up to 1:5 with lower-acuity patient groups, within a 46-bed ED with an average daily census of 140
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic charting system
- Float within the Emergency Room specialty as needed; holidays worked as scheduled
- Active Maryland RN license or Compact License at time of submission
- BLS certification (AHA only)
- ACLS certification (AHA only)
- PALS certification (AHA only)
- TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale, and CPI certifications required (CPI online version must be "Calm Every Storm" vendor)
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room RN experience required; travel experience preferred, though first-time travelers with 5+ years of ED experience may be considered
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals under 50 miles are not accepted unless otherwise specified)
- Prior travel nursing experience
- Experience with high-acuity patient populations including trauma, cardiac arrest, and stroke
- Familiarity with specialized emergency equipment such as rapid infusers and mechanical CPR devices
- Opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency department managing a diverse and complex patient population
- Gain experience with a broad range of critical diagnoses and specialized emergency equipment in a dynamic clinical environment
