Groundsperson

Accokeek Arborist is looking for a dependable, hardworking Groundsperson to join our tree-care team. This is a part-time, hands-on position working alongside our tree climbers and crew members to safely and efficiently complete residential and commercial tree-care projects.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, physical work, and being part of a professional team. Previous tree-care experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate.

• Assist tree climbers and crew members with daily tree-care operations.
• Feed brush and limbs into the wood chipper safely and efficiently.
• Drag, stack, and organize branches, logs, and other debris.
• Assist with tree pruning, removals, trimming, and storm cleanup.
• Set up and maintain safe work zones around job sites.
• Assist with ropes and ground-based rigging as directed.
• Load and unload equipment, tools, and materials.
• Keep work trucks, equipment, and job sites clean and organized.
• Follow all company safety procedures.
• Provide professional and courteous service to customers.
• Perform other ground-crew duties as needed.

• Reliable and punctual.
• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Comfortable performing physically demanding work.
• Able to lift, carry, drag, and move branches and other materials.
• Willing to learn professional tree-care techniques and safety procedures.
• Able to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Previous landscaping, tree-care, construction, or outdoor labor experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license is preferred.
