Position Overview
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our team on the 2nd shift. This position works a convenient Monday through Thursday schedule from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM, giving you a three‑day weekend every week, along with a paid 30‑minute meal break each shift.
In this role, you will help ensure that fabricated, machined, and repaired products meet company, customer, and industry quality standards. Responsibilities include performing inspections throughout the manufacturing process, verifying compliance with specifications, reviewing documentation, and supporting quality assurance efforts across a variety of projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of industrial fabrication, welding, machining, and inspection practices. Knowledge of quality standards such as AISC, ASME, AWS, and ISO 9001 is beneficial, but candidates with relevant experience and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do- Read and understand the project/job documents for precise specifications, particular methods, and special requirements
- Inspect and document work for conformance to quality standards, code, customer requirements, etc., both in the shop and field, as needed
- Monitor and document conformance to procedures throughout project duration
- Manage and assist with the resolution of non‑conformance; follow up on corrective and preventative actions
- Complete Code required documentation of fabrications, repairs, and alterations to include weld procedures, material tracking, non‑destructive testing, customer specifications, inspection processes, etc.
- Communicate quality issues and concerns with the Quality Control Manager
- Coach and mentor personnel on quality procedures and best practices
- Provide technical support to customers, project managers, engineering, manufacturing, and others as needed in all areas relating to quality
- Identify and implement manufacturing and design improvements
- Sit, stand, talk, hear, read, and write
- Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb ladders and stairs; and crawl
- Must pass an annual visual acuity exam to include color differential perception
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Work both inside and outside in harsh weather conditions
- 3+ years of Quality Control Inspection experience in a metal manufacturing environment preferred
- Preference given to those certified as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Associate Welding Inspector (CAWI) by the American Welding Society and a valid NACE Paint Inspector Certification (or equivalent) preferred
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) as well as inspecting with a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) preferred
- Proficient in the aspects of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Welding Society (AWS) Codes, and ISO preferred
- Ability and desire to obtain additional Inspector Certifications as needed and required
- Must exhibit a high‑level of professionalism, integrity, and be willing and able to maintain a positive and professional demeanor in representing the company, without exception
- Must be able to read and interpret customer specifications and advise the management team on quality capabilities based on job/project specifications
