Position: QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (AIRCRAFT) with Security Clearance
Location: Andrews AFB

Duties
* Acts as liaison between the Maintenance and Operations Group Commanders, Contracting Officer, and the contractor for maintenance scheduling.
* Manages the quality assurance program and overall surveillance of the contractor's work performance for maintenance scheduling and analysis, fixed and rotary wing aircraft maintenance.
* Serves as a contract technical advisor for aircraft maintenance scheduling and analysis.
* Resolvesdiscrepancies, differencesofopinion,clarifies requirements,solves problems,and Initiates changes.

* The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty away from the normal work area.
* This is a KEY position. Incumbent must be removed from his or her military recall status if alternatives for filling the position during an emergency are not available.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance. Qualifications Conditions of Employment Continued:
* This position is normally assigned to an 8 hour work shift rotation supporting a 24 hour seven days per week work schedule recall to duty is a regular requirement of the position. As required, work hours may involve uncommon or flexible hours including night, weekends and holidays.
* This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule, Administrative and Management Positions,Quality Assurance Series 1910.

SPECIALIZED

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience which includes experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas. Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas.

Examples include:
Reviewing production activities and capabilities in light of contract quality requirements. Reviewing written quality or inspection procedures for adequacy and evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems, including sampling plans. Analyzing quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality/inspection system. Verifying by test or inspection, using sampling inspection or intensive product inspection techniques, that products comply with requirements prior to acceptance.

Identifying inadequacies and requesting corrective action. Computing data, summarizing results, and preparing reports or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods. Investigating customer complaints and deficiency reports and providing identification of causes to appropriate authorities. Reading, interpreting, and applying technical data such as blueprints, engineering drawings, product specifications, or technical manuals.
