About the Role
Join a leading team as a Tech 2, Quality Control, where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards in mechanical and electrical product inspection. This contractor position offers a competitive pay rate of $25-$35/hr, first-shift hours (7:30am-4:00pm), and hands-on experience at our Sparks, MD facility. Start your journey with a comprehensive, week-long training program and contribute to a culture of precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of mechanical and electrical materials and products
- Interpret and verify products against engineering drawings, blueprints, and Engineering Change Orders
- Utilize hand tools (calipers, micrometers, scales) for detailed inspections
- Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with workmanship standards and company policies
- Document inspection results and communicate findings to relevant departments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and support team objectives
- Follow all BD policies and participate in ongoing process improvements
- Plan daily tasks and inspections under supervisor or group leader direction
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 3 years of quality control experience or equivalent training
- Proficient with hand tools (calipers, micrometers, scales)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Comfortable navigating and using Windows-based systems
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a 9-panel drug test
Preferred Skills
- Experience in mechanical/electrical inspection within a manufacturing or instrument plant environment
- Strong decision-making skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
