Quality Assurance Technician – 3rd Shift (11:00pm-7:30am) Mon.
-Fri.
Provide Quality Assurance inspection and support activities in the SIPA and/or Molding Department. This position covers absences and provides support for the QA Inspectors as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Process control and mold qualifications.
- Investigate quality issues.
- Audit questionable product on shift or as requested.
- Make job jackets for upcoming jobs.
- Maintain labels for the shift for current production running.
- Handle start‑ups performing all critical dimensions for all jobs.
- Act as mediator between QA and Production.
- Maintain resin/Colorant Sheets and Color Chips as needed.
- Perform special testing on products specified by customer as needed.
- Perform AQL Audits as required.
- Scan work order paperwork from the job jackets on the drive for record keeping.
- Walk the floor periodically throughout the shift to ensure QA Inspectors are properly performing their duties.
- Provide training as needed to QA Inspectors and new hires.
- Support Food Safety and HACCP.
- Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
- Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality systems.
- Initiate and recommend action to prevent occurrences of any non‑conformity of product or quality systems, or provide solutions where applicable.
- Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes or systems and support the implementation of solutions.
- Resume the role of a QA Inspector in their absence to get the attributes and dimensional data completed.
- Perform any and all duties as assigned by QA Manager.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Minimum quality assurance experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Computer skills – Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook or similar email system.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. occasionally.
- High School Diploma or GED required; minimum of three years working in a quality related position.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Lotus Notes or similar email software.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to set; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of U.V. radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Compensation$21.00/hr – $23.00/hr position does qualify for shift differential.
