Job Overview
iRF Solutions, an Amphenol company, is seeking a Quality Control (QC) Technician to perform inspection, verification, and rework of electronic assemblies, PCB boards, and RF interconnect products. This hands‑on role ensures compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory requirements while supporting manufacturing quality and reliability. Working closely with Engineering and Operations, this position plays a key part in delivering high-performance, manufacturable solutions at scale.
EssentialFunctions
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of PCB assemblies, SMT components, and RF products in accordance with IPC, customer, and internal workmanship standards.
- Inspect solder quality, component placement, polarity, and overall workmanship.
- Conduct board-level rework and touch-up using IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC-7711/7721 standards.
- Follow and enforce ESD‑safe handling practices throughout the production environment.
- Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances to Engineering and Operations.
- Support root‑cause and corrective action efforts by providing inspection data and defect observations.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, traceability documentation, and quality logs.
- Utilize ERP systems for part lookup, routing verification, inventory review, and quality documentation (EPICOR required).
- Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on reducing defects and enhancing manufacturing quality.
- Assist with internal or customer audits as needed to ensure production process compliance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post‑secondary/Associate’s Degree with 0‑2 years of relevant experience.
- IPC-J-STD-001 and/or IPC-610 certification (or ability to obtain).
- Strong hands‑on experience with PCB inspection, SMT components, and rework.
- Knowledge of ESD requirements and proper handling procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify workmanship defects.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using ERP systems—EPICOR required.
- Experience in RF, electronics, or defense‑related manufacturing environments.
- Experience with IPC‑7711/7721 rework practices.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality standards.
- Experience with nonconformance documentation and basic inspection metric tracking.
$29.00 – $33.00 per hour
LocationOnsite in Sparks, MD with a 9/80 schedule. Every other Friday off.
