Job Description

The Lab Technician is responsible for preparing samples for the Flavorist and the Sales department, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare formulation samples for customers.

+ Complete sample requests in a timely manner.

+ Maintain stock of current materials in the laboratory.

+ Keep Research & Development's completed formula batch tickets and file them monthly.

+ Assist Flavorists as needed.

+ Obtain all samples and ensure quality control approval prior to shipping to customers.

+ Keep the laboratory in order and ensure glassware is cleaned, dried, and put away.

+ Ensure all expired samples and raw materials are discarded properly.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in R&D, Chemistry, Laboratory, and Formulation Development.

+ Knowledge of Analytical Chemistry, FDA regulations, and Compounding.

+ 2 - 4 years of experience working in a lab setting.

+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

+ Ability to work quickly and efficiently to meet tight deadlines.

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.

+ Proven organizational skills.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science or an equivalent area.

+ Experience in Pharmaceutical, Food Chemistry, and Food Science.

+ Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.

+ Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment.

+ Regular presence in the office required.

+ Some travel may be required.

Work Environment

The role is based in an R&D Laboratory, where Lab Coats and PPE are necessary. The work environment is a clean room setting. Enjoy a great work-life balance with the possibility of great benefits if brought on permanently. The company is also closed for the last one to two weeks of the year.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sykesville, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
