Join the NAPA family as a Counter Sales Associate and become the face of our retail stores. You will be the first point of contact for customers seeking automotive parts and solutions.
Responsibilities- Provide auto parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter or over the phone.
- Use parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members and answer customers’ questions.
- Deliver outstanding customer care and interactions with everyone who visits the store.
- Bring customer focus and high energy to our fast‑paced stores.
- Welcome retail customers into the store and engage to provide a positive consumer experience.
- Operate technology such as computer, cash register, telephone, and paper catalog system.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or a willingness to learn all things auto parts.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Technical or trade school courses or degree (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Great listening skills and empathy for customers.
- Love fast‑paced retail environments.
- Background or passion for automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership (preferred).
- Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, auto body/collision (preferred).
- Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems (preferred).
- Customer‑centric mindset (external/internal).
- ASE certifications (preferred).
- Competitive pay: starting hourly rate of $17.75 with progression to top end within 12 months.
