Position Summary
As a Cake Decorator you will drive member service in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.
What you’ll do- Be a Team Member: Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources, and communicate effectively to provide customer service. Maintain in‑stock levels and control shrinkage.
- Be an Expert: Plan bakery productions, ensuring consistency in quality and accuracy of decorative designs. Follow recipe measurement instructions, work with a variety of products (decorating bags, tips, nozzles), create decorative flowers and lettering, and adhere to food‑safety, sanitation, cold‑chain, and inventory standards. Operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment and demonstrate understanding of product layout.
- Be a Techie: Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement. Use handheld technology for production decisions, merchandise ordering, training, and quality control.
- Be an Owner: Drive bakery area performance, ensuring quality and date‑control standards while eliminating waste. Prepare for seasonal events (holidays, graduations, family events), identify member needs, assist members with purchasing decisions, and resolve member issues.
- Be a Talent Ambassador: Advocate for the brand by valuing the member experience, modeling high‑quality service, and interacting with associates to understand roadblocks, train, influence, and inspire for respectful, supportive teamwork.
- Comply with Company Policies: Follow policies, procedures, and ethical standards by implementing action plans and using the Open Door Policy.
- Complete Work Assignments: Use policies, data, and resources to collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers, and partners; set priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate progress while recommending improvement opportunities.

Live Better U is a company‑paid education benefit program for full‑time and part‑time associates. Programs range from high‑school completion to bachelor’s degrees, English language learning, and short‑form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are entirely paid by Walmart.
Hourly wage range: $20.00 to $28.00. Actual rate will equal or exceed the applicable minimum wage for the job location.
Premium compensation may range from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour, based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
Minimum Qualifications- Six months’ experience in a fresh production area
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must successfully complete all required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period if hired
- Cake decorating experience
