We are looking to hire a part-time sales associate for our Timonium, MD location who enjoys playing music and learning more about the industry. As a retail associate at Menchey Music, you will be important to providing helpful and accurate knowledge and guidance to guarantee that our customers have a great experience. If you have a passion for music and helping others on their musical journey, we would love to speak with you.

This job will require you to work in a customer-facing environment, interacting with customers in-person, over the phone, and through email.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

Work with customers to complete sales of instruments, music accessories, and sheet music.
Process band and orchestra rental contracts - our rental program makes music accessible to everyone.
Register customers for lessons and engage in conversation regarding the store's private lesson program The Menchey School of Music.

Other responsibilities:

Become familiar with the products and manufacturers that the company works with
Complete training on basic instrument knowledge, sales techniques, and new products
Answer customer questions and concerns, understanding when to ask for help
Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and organized storefront
Open and close the store according to store policies
Basic money handling and ability to accurately balance cash drawer

Requirements

Required Experience:

HS Diploma or GED
Ability to play a musical instrument
General knowledge of musical instruments and written music

Preferred Experience:

Previous retail or sales experience
