Architectural Specification Sales Representative

With centuries of experience, we are a powerful supplier of both domestic and imported, exotic hardwood lumber such as Teak, Sapele, Genuine Mahogany, Black Walnut, and Ipe. J. Gibson McIlvain is more than just materials and with our comprehensive architectural millwork facility, we offer custom millwork services from interior trim and cabinetry to exterior siding, pergolas, and furniture.
The Architectural Specification Sales Representative connects and builds relationships with Architects, Builders, and resellers to promote J. Gibson McIlvain Company and ICD's product lines. During the current business cycle, this Architectural Specification Sales Representative will focus specifically on promoting our Alpha 2.0 line. This person will become an expert on the manufacturing process, installation, and features and benefits of the various products to advise clients and prospects on the best usage of the products.
The Architectural Specification Sales Representative will collaborate with the Sales department and customers to help get our products specified and ultimately ordered for specific jobs or inventories. This person will also assist our Marketing and Sales department in developing strategies for product line sales and report on trends within the target marketplace.
- Builds relationships through in person meetings, virtual meetings, and webinars with specifiers (Architects, Designers, Builders, etc.) to get our products specified
- Educates the marketplace on the features and benefits of our product lines, with a specific focus on our Alpha 2.0 product line
- Works together with the Sales team to support them in closing sales, as necessary
- Works to develop up to date presentations regarding the company and our products that will promote the marketing and sales efforts of the role
- Supports development of new products and product improvements
- Assists in the field by conducting and analyzing market research; works with the marketing team to develop branding strategies based upon information
- Formulates and recommends campaign tactics and plans for product launch and ongoing marketing
- Creates templates for presentation; revises templates as needed
- Researches and recommends tradeshow and/or seminar options based on internal goals and strategies
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
- Approximately 50% travel
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent in related field
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects
- Experience with web analytics and email marketing applications.
- Experience with creative asset applications (Adobe CC, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Eligibility effective on the first day of the month following 60 days of continuous employment
