Sunstates Security is currently hiring Flex Security Officers in the Laurel, MD area to work on call/as needed
. These positions offer a pay rate of $21.00/hr with weekly pay.

• Active MD Guard Card (required).
• Covid 19 vaccination & Booster*.
• Ability to work flex weekday hours & overnight weekends (100% required).
• 1+ year of security experience.
• 1+ year of data entry/customer service experience (preferred).
• Reliable transportation (required).
• Weekends & overnights (100% required).
• CPR/First Aid/AED certified (preferred).

The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company’s operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.

The Scheduling Parameters And Expectations For a Flex Officer Are Different From Those Of An Employee Assigned To a Fixed Post. As a Flex Officer:

• You will be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need. This may not be a permanent assignment.
• Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
• You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
• Some shifts will be scheduled in advance; some may be short-notice.
• You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance within your described availability. If you are unavailable on a date or time within your availability, inform your supervisor so they know not to schedule you.

For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. If you refuse more than 20% of shifts for which you are called in, this could impact your employment status with the company.

A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Security Officer will read and become knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
