Job Description- Perform initial review of assigned classified historical records using approved declassification guides, Department of War guidance, and Executive Order 13526 requirements.
- Identify information requiring continued protection, exclusion, or referral; document recommendations for declassification, continued classification, or downgrading.
- Complete Standard Form 715 for records recommended for exemption, exclusion, or referral, in accordance with approved procedures.
- Enter review findings and decision metadata into the AFDO database on SIPRNET; maintain accurate page counts, record identifiers, and review status.
- Identify Air Force and other agency equities, flag unresolved questions, and refer complex issues to senior analysts or the designated quality control reviewer.
- Recognize and flag potential Restricted Data and Formerly Restricted Data; elevate records for authorized review and referral under approved procedures.
- Submit reviewed records and supporting documentation for quality control, resolve returned discrepancies, and apply feedback to subsequent work.
- Protect physical and electronic records, preserve document order and accountability, and support secure storage, archival preparation, and assigned workspace security duties.
- Active, fully adjudicated Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility; maintain required clearance and Government-approved access throughout assignment.
- Strong reading comprehension, analytical judgment, and attention to detail when reviewing lengthy or complex historical documents.
- Ability to learn and consistently apply classification and declassification guidance, document a clear rationale, and elevate uncertain findings.
- Working proficiency with Microsoft Office, electronic documents, and database entry; ability to learn authorized review systems.
- Ability to sustain accurate, production-oriented document review, accept quality control feedback, and work full time on site.
- Experience in declassification, classified records handling, intelligence support, historical research, or federal records management.
- Familiarity with Air Force missions, classification guides, SF-715 documentation, or ADR and SDR workflows.
Salary range for this position is $65,000-$80,000 annually.
