The Installation Lead is responsible for leading installation teams, delivering materials to client sites, and ensuring efficient, professional workmanship. This position acts as the on‑site foreman, guiding by example with strong tool skills, excellent customer service, and adherence to policy. The Installation Lead works alongside the crew, coordinating the loading and unloading of trucks, leading the assembly and installation of office furniture, overseeing careful interaction with client spaces, and keeping the team on task.
The Installation Lead is also responsible for the safe and timely transportation of team members, equipment, and goods to and from client sites.
- Ensures all office furniture and fixtures, including systems furniture, case goods, accessories, and wall‑hung units, are installed effectively and efficiently with high customer satisfaction.
- Accurately pulls, prepares, and stages product and materials; assembles and levels furniture according to manufacturer instructions.
- Performs basic installation functions, such as carrying and lifting, crating or uncrating product, assembling panels and components, cleaning and detailing, installing locks, etc.
- Collects, checks, and loads all the day’s orders listed on the daily project manifest; checks and loads all outgoing project materials; ensures loads are secure and cannot shift or fall during transit.
- Audits outgoing orders, requests changes as necessary, marks any issues and reports to management.
- Delivers all outgoing product to clients and handles open pick‑up requests.
- Ensures the crew is safely at the client site in a timely manner and receives calls from the Douron team, making accommodations for special requests as necessary.
- Processes all customer returns and undelivered items daily; reports any undelivered orders and pick‑up issues to the Installation Manager.
- Maintains an up‑to‑date vehicle checklist and reports concerns to management; maintains a safe and clean vehicle and working environment by complying with policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Understands all company safety guidelines and protocols outlined in the Safety Handbook; follows up on vehicle maintenance and inspections according to federal, state, and company guidelines.
- Inspects product thoroughly for concealed damages and reports findings according to company procedure.
- Carefully handles, lifts, carries, loads, secures, and unloads materials, products, and tools on and off box trucks between storage locations and client worksites; mindfully shows care at worksites, including responsible treatment of client property and facilities.
- Ensures a professional finish at worksites by tidying, cleaning, and picking up debris; cleans and wipes down all product, empties drawers (except instructions for customer), and removes tape and packing materials; ensures no damage to client property or goods; participates in a tidy workspace by removing trash, obstacles, and hazards throughout the workday; confirms no product, materials, or tools are unintentionally left behind.
- Maintains and uses company equipment appropriately, responsibly, and safely without damage or loss.
- Uses safe and careful carrying and transportation techniques at all times, especially while carrying on stairs or performing team lifts.
- Reviews upcoming assigned projects and makes appropriate preparations in advance, including coordinating with the installation team, communicating with the company schedulers, and ensuring the truck is loaded with the needed product and equipment.
- Clearly communicates with the installation team, delegating tasks and guiding procedure.
- Acts as the on‑site point of contact for the customer during the installation.
- Verifies other installers’ work each day to ensure quality.
- Appropriately wraps and secures all product to minimize the risk of damage.
