Overview
Johnson Controls Inc. is looking for forward‑thinking talent to support the fast‑growing HVAC business in North America. The role focuses on commercial HVACR service, providing high‑quality maintenance, repair, and customer support.
Responsibilities- Perform maintenance, repair and replacement of commercial heating and cooling systems.
- Partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, and open‑drive screw chillers.
- Provide the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and service‑related items.
- Offer solutions and outcomes at commissioning and aftermarket service; provide recommendations, upselling opportunities, and quotes.
- Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry (UAM) of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO.
- Minimum of three (3) years of commercial/industrial HVAC mechanical troubleshooting experience (rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing).
- Proficiency in mechanical shaft alignment with dial indicators and use of vibration equipment for drivetrain troubleshooting.
- Travel up to 20% to support branch customers.
- Must pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.
- Possess a Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and a valid driver's license.
- Self‑starter with passion to learn and apply on the job.
- Pay rate: $55 per hour, determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
