Position: AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC with Security Clearance
Location: Andrews AFB

Duties The primary purpose of this position is:
To serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) to test, troubleshoot, repair and modify aircraft fuel distribution systems, repair leaks of external/integrated tanks, and provide training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth therein. DUTIES:
* Receives work documents or oral instructions regarding problem with aircraft fuel system.
* Troubleshoots integral fuel tanks, using leak path analysis and other test procedures such as pressure checks vacuum checks, dye injection checks, helium and argon gas checks, etc., to determine the source of fuel leaks.
* Troubleshoots fuel cells to determine location of leaks. Accomplishes modifications and prepares components for storage or shipment. Prepares effective training plans to maximize Reserve training.
* In performing duties uses a variety of common hand tools, combustible and toxic gas indicators, torque wrenches, leak detectors, pressure gauges, manometers, powered tools such as drills and pneumatic wrenches; also, operates AGE such as blowers, filters, vacuum cleaners, heaters, air conditioners, fire extinguishers, etc. Requirements Conditions of employment

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-8200 Fluid Systems Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
2. Skill and knowledge in the use of standard hand and power tools/equipment, materials accounting and security.
3. Ability to read and interpret a variety of technical data, and Knowledge of USAF Technical Order Program and its procedures.
4. Ability to install aircraft pneudraulic systems, equipment or accessories.
5. Comprehensive knowledge of operation, capabilities and limitations of aircraft pneudraulic systems. Ability to use a variety of test and measurement equipment, ability to test complete pneudraulic systems.
6. Ability to document in aircraft forms/MIS, clean work area and/or job site upon completion of work. Ability to overhaul, repair, calibrate or fabricate aircraft pneudraulic equipment. Ability to troubleshoot aircraft pneudraulic equipment of moderate complexity. Knowledge of safety and security requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations and technical orders.
