Aerial Construction Technician II – Fiber Optics

You'll Do
- Safely perform work in communication spaces
- Qualify to work safely in energized spaces
- Participate in work requiring pole climbing
- Inspect, mobilize, and operate a bucket truck from the cab
- Record and report the sequential footmarks by the operator or groundman
- Responsible for framing poles
- Pull cable, strand, fiber, and lash, for extended periods of time
- Provide framing and attachment hardware for the operator, jack-down guys, pull lashes
Working Conditions
- Walk/use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls / Reach with hands and arms / Climb ladders and stairs / crawl/kneel
- Climb poles; carry, set up and extend ladders weighing up to 65 pounds, as well as work with confidence on ladders and utility poles at heights of up to 60 feet in the air to perform tasks in communications spaces
- Work indoors, outdoors, and underground in various weather conditions
- Able to walk long distances
- Able to lift up to 65 pounds without assistance
- 2-4 years of relevant Fiber Optics experience preferred
- Mastery of Aerial Construction Technician I Job Duties
- Proficient in the use of the following equipment: ladders, bucket trucks, man lifts, cable pullers and reel stands preferred
- Experience operating small equipment experience (i.e., forklift, bobcat, telehandler, skid steer, etc.)
- Flagger Certification
- Must be comfortable working at elevated heights and confined spaces
