The incumbent will lay out assigned jobs and order materials, caulk, glaze, mix colors, paint, cut in trim, stain and finish wood surfaces, refinish furniture, install glass, finish drywall, and use a spray gun. Must work independently and with other tradesmen.

• Performs maintenance, repair, and improvement of buildings and equipment.
• Ensures buildings are maintained for health and safety of all occupants.
• Executes skilled painting, glazing, caulking, and glass replacement.
• Performs drywall installations and finishing.
• Reads blueprints and performs layout for construction.
• Responds to emergencies beyond normal working hours.
• Ensures all activities conform to school system guidelines and local building codes.
• Communicates positively with others, arrives on time, works under stress, and meets deadlines.
• Uses tablet or laptop to enter work order information.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Maryland Class C driver’s license with current copy of license and driving record.
• Ability to read blueprints and lay out jobs.
• Knowledge of the painting trade and experience with related tools.
• Ability to tape, caulk, finish drywall, and work with glass.
• Must be able to climb ladders, work on roofs or at heights, and work in confined spaces.
• Able to use tablet or laptop computer for work orders.
• Physical capacity to lift and carry objects weighing 50 lbs. or more.
• Experienced with spray gun usage (preferred).
• Citizenship, residency, or valid work visa required.
• Minimum 5‑year relevant experience preferred.

Work requires heavy physical effort at frequent intervals, including lifting and carrying objects weighing 50 lbs. or more. Subject to flexible work schedule and called in for emergencies, including snow removal.
