The H&K Group seeks a Shop Mechanic to support our Construction automotive department. In this role, you will inspect, diagnose, and repair a variety of construction trucks, loaders, and heavy equipment used across our projects. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems, completing work orders, and ensuring all equipment meets safety and performance standards. You will collaborate closely with field crews in a culture focused on safety, innovation, and reliable service to keep our fleet operating efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair construction vehicles and heavy equipment
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and safety inspections
- Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and braking systems
- Maintain accurate work orders, service records, and parts usage
- Collaborate with field crews to prioritize repairs and reduce downtime
- Use diagnostic software, tools, and manuals to identify mechanical issues
- Ensure all work complies with safety, environmental, and company standards
- Assist with emergency repairs and on-site service when needed
- Order or request necessary parts and materials for repairs
- Keep shop, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and safe
