Mechanic, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor

The H&K Group is seeking Mechanics to inspect, maintain, and repair heavy construction equipment and vehicle fleets used on civil, paving, and materials projects across the Mid-Atlantic region. In this role, you will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, complete component rebuilds, and ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and job-ready. Working in a safety-focused, family-owned environment, you'll collaborate with operators and supervisors, maintain accurate service records, and support field operations with timely repairs, occasional on-site service, and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair heavy construction equipment and company vehicles
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using appropriate tools
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services to minimize downtime
• Complete component rebuilds and parts replacements to manufacturer standards
• Respond to field service calls and perform on-site repairs as needed
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records in logs or systems
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
• Collaborate with operators and supervisors to prioritize repairs
• Order or request necessary parts and materials for repairs
• Assist in keeping shop tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
