Position Description

The Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for driving membership growth and brand visibility through strategic community outreach, partnerships, and member-facing events. This role represents Signal Financial within designated markets and segments by building trusted relationships, coordinating high-impact events, and supporting membership development initiatives. Working closely with Marketing, Retail, and Branch teams, the Community Engagement Specialist executes outreach strategies that align with Signal's brand values and growth priorities.

This position plays a critical role in expanding Signal's presence in the community while delivering a professional, welcoming experience to prospective and existing members.

Position Responsibilities Community Outreach & Partnership Development
  • Represent Signal Financial as a trusted financial partner at community, corporate, and membership events
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with community organizations, businesses, associations, and referral partners
  • Develop and manage a partnership pipeline to support membership growth
  • Support regional outreach strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Conduct networking and outbound engagement to identify new opportunities
Event Planning & Execution
  • Plan, organize, and execute membership events, partner activations, and community outreach initiatives
  • Coordinate event logistics, materials, staffing needs, and internal communications
  • Ensure all events align with brand standards, internal policies, and member experience expectations
  • Attend and actively promote Signal at community events, trade shows, and sponsored initiatives
  • Conduct post-event follow-up to support relationship-building and membership conversion
Membership Growth & Business Development
  • Support membership development efforts by engaging prospective members and partners
  • Open new accounts and support loan conversations as needed during events
  • Maintain strong knowledge of Signal's products, services, fees, and policies to make appropriate recommendations
  • Provide accurate information and assistance to prospective and existing members
  • Support overall membership development and growth strategies
Reporting & Performance Tracking
  • Collect and input prospect and member data from events and outreach activities
  • Track event outcomes, engagement metrics, and return on investment

    Maintain accurate records and reports related to outreach and membership growth performance
  • Share insights and feedback to inform future outreach and engagement strategies
Collaboration & Professional Representation
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Retail, and internal teams to align outreach with campaign and brand initiatives
  • Support workforce planning for events, including staffing needs and scheduling coordination
  • Demonstrate a proactive, growth-oriented mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Maintain professionalism and positively represent Signal Financial in all community interactions
Position Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in community outreach, business development, or relationship-based roles
  • Financial services experience preferred but not required
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Comfortable engaging diverse audiences and representing the organization publicly
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and professional
