Catholic Charities of Baltimore is currently seeking a Program Supervisor who will manage the overall community outreach and operations component of the assigned meaningful day program.

The work schedule is:

  • Monday - Friday: 8am-4pm

Gallagher Services supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living the life of their choice. Adults are supported in living, working and being involved in the community as independently as possible. The Cornerstones of the program are Person-Centered Planning and the mission and values of Catholic Charities.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create an environment in which people are valued and encouraged to develop to their fullest potential (following fundamentals of person’s rights and person-centered supports.) Teach and promote dignity, right of choice, civil rights and reasonable risk to people supported.
  • Supervise implementation of individual and general programming for assigned day program individuals supported. Oversee and complete documentation of individuals (daily notes, Person-Centered Plan (PCP) progress, services provided, MARs (medication administration records), behavior plans etc.)
  • Provide daily observation and supervision of individuals and manage daily attendance reports in conjunction with Manager.
  • Attend PCP meetings (pre-planning and final) to provide input by working with the Manager and PCP Specialist.
  • Assist manager in monitoring safety, medical and dietary compliance.
  • Administer medication and provide program coverage as needed.
  • Serves as back‑up for the Manager of Community Supports and Day Program and the management of the program in their absence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC DUTIES

Community Engagement & Activities

  • Develop ongoing daily schedules in conjunction with PCP Specialists and evaluate the effectiveness of the activities and schedules in terms of enhancing the person’s quality of life.
  • Post daily activity schedules, including staffing of groups, noting staff on leave, special activities/events, community engagement opportunities, etc.
  • Assist and train staff in implementing the daily activity program for individuals based on their wants, needs and preferences including coordinating, planning and/or assisting in organizing outings, classes, virtual supports, and field trips daily.
  • Collaborate with the volunteer coordinator to build partnerships with community organizations (i.e.: colleges, businesses, volunteer organizations, other Catholic Charities agencies, etc.) to maximize community engagement opportunities.

Transportation/Operations

  • Assist manager with operation of the program site in accordance with state regulations. Oversee completion and documentation of monthly fire drills, monitor, order and coordinate necessary equipment and supplies, report needed building and equipment repairs and track work orders for completion.
  • Develop and maintain transportation route assignments
  • Be a back‑up when needed for transportation.
  • Track and schedule vehicle maintenance and routing. Ensure cleaning protocols are followed, equipment checks and follow‑up (i.e.: lifts, q‑straints, seatbelts, emergency supplies, etc.).
  • Maintaining and tracking documentation and reporting on mileage log data for the program grants and billing purposes.
  • Work with agency Fleet Coordinator on vehicle grant documentation/billing and vehicle needs for the program.
  • DOT Certification required within 4-months.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • AA degree or higher in Special Education, Psychology, Mental Health or related field.
  • Two years of experience in the developmental disabilities field. Must include experience in the supervision of staff. Experience may be substituted for education on a 1:1 basis.
  • Professional experience delivering community‑based services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
