School Social Worker - Prince Frederick, MD

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by using your clinical expertise and passion for social work in an engaging school-based setting. This contract position offers a full-time schedule (35 hours per week) for the  academic year, supporting two schools. You’ll apply your skills to guide, advocate, and empower students, while enjoying a collaborative environment and an assignment designed around your preferred age group and location.

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) required
• Active state social work licensure
• Educator certification from the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), or eligibility/willingness to obtain upon offer
• Prior experience in a school setting is highly valued, but open to all licensed social workers passionate about educational environments
• Excellent communication, organizational, and advocacy skills

• Provide individual and group counseling to students to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans and behavioral intervention strategies
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
• Lead crisis intervention and provide referral services as needed
• Serve as a bridge between school and community resources, ensuring comprehensive student support
• Maintain confidential and timely records in compliance with policies and ethical standards
