Senior Software Engineer – Java, Microservices & Cloud

Job Description

The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. The Engineer works individually or as part of a team, reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements, documents test results, resolves software problem reports, and utilizes appropriate software development and design methodologies.

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline OR four additional years of software engineering experience
• At least 14 years of experience as a software engineer (at least 18 years if no Bachelor’s degree)

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
• Debug existing software and correct defects

• Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories
• Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards

Salary range depending on experience: $220,000 - $240,000
