Senior Software Requirement Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Main Responsibilities

• Create, define, and maintain formal subsystem‑level software requirements.
• Analyze system requirements, user needs, and system designs; collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to gather, refine, and validate requirements.
• Take ownership of assigned features or updates, including planning work, coordinating with team members, communicating progress, and aligning activities with project leads.
• Lead and contribute to technical discussions and design reviews related to assigned features.
• Support investigation of proposed new features by assessing technical risk, implementation complexity, and development effort.
• Develop deep subject‑matter expertise in assigned areas, enabling effective support of development and verification teams and participation in systems engineering discussions related to new features and defect investigations.

  Experience:
  
  3+ years of experience managing system, software, firmware, or related requirements, including the use of tools such as IBM DOORS or equivalent.
• Requirements Elicitation and Analysis: Strong ability to elicit, analyze, and document requirements by engaging with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and cross‑functional teams.
• Clear Communication: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to technical and non‑technical audiences.

• Experience with DOORS
• Experience working with medical devices specifically related to Jude Medical/Abbott Pacemakers, ICDs and ICMs

This position is for in‑person and on‑site work at the Abbott facility in Sylmar, California.

The base pay for this position is $90,000.00 – $
