Captivation Software is looking for a mid level software engineer who will architect, develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems supporting our critical environments. They will work across the full software development lifecycle, delivering scalable solutions for processing-intensive analytics, large data sets, real-time systems, and enterprise applications. In this role they will collaborate with engineers, stakeholders, and customers to design high-performing software solutions, evaluate technical trade-offs, and implement reusable, modular components that support multiple applications and mission needs.

Candidates will excel in this role if they have the following experience:

• Have extensive experience designing and developing full-stack software solutions
• Enjoy solving complex performance and scalability challenges
• Are proficient with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
• Have strong object-oriented development experience using Java and Java Script
• Understand how to design modular, reusable software components
• Can balance technical excellence with customer-focused solution delivery
• Enjoy mentoring developers and influencing technical direction across teams

Security Clearance:

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline
• 14 years of experience architecting, developing, and maintaining software solutions, with an emphasis on performance optimizations

Required Skills:

• Experience with all aspects of full stack development
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
• Experience developing software using object-oriented languages such as Java and Java Script
• Experience designing and developing modular, reusable software components
• Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility requirements
• Experience working throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, testing, deployment, and sustainment

Desired

Skills:

• Experience developing web-based geospatial applications using tools such as Leaflet.js
• Technical leadership, team lead, or mentoring experience
• Proactive technical customer service and stakeholder engagement experience
• Experience optimizing solutions across multiple applications, teams, or technology
• Experience using CI/CD pipelines for consistent delivery

• Annual Salary: $130,000 - $270,000 (Depends on the Years of Experience)
• Up to 20% 401k contribution (No Matching Required and Vested from Day
