ARSIEM is currently looking for an experienced UI Front End Software Engineer to lead a team of UI developers, designing front-end architecture and coding standards while remaining hands-on in development across the full software product lifecycle in an agile environment.

Responsibilities span analyzing user requirements to derive design and performance standards, developing and debugging software, integrating systems, and implementing algorithms to meet performance goals. The ideal candidate has front end experience, translates UX/UI designs into accessible, production-ready interfaces, and mentor's junior developers while collaborating closely with system engineers and product stakeholders to resolve technical problem areas. The position will support one of our government clients in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Responsibilities
* Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
* Works individually or as part of a team.
* Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
* Resolves software problem reports.
* Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
* Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
* Lead and mentor a team of UI/front-end developers, providing technical guidance, standards, and code review.
* Architect and implement scalable, maintainable front-end solutions using modern frameworks.
* Translate prototypes and design specifications into functional, responsive, and accessible interfaces.
* Collaborate with backend engineers to design and integrate APIs, ensuring efficient data flow between front-end and back-end systems.
* Contribute to full-stack development efforts as needed, including backend services, database interactions, and deployment pipelines.
* Partner with UX/UI and systems engineers to ensure design intent is preserved through implementation.
* Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, cross-browser issues, and technical debt.
* Participate in sprint planning, technical estimation, and architectural decision-making.
* Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508, WCAG) throughout development.

Minimum Qualifications
* Proven experience leading or mentoring a development team
* Strong proficiency in modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) and standard web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
* Full-stack experience, including backend development (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, RESTful/GraphQL API design
* Experience with state management, component-based architecture, and responsive design
* Familiarity with version control (Git) CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Gov Cloud is a plus)
* Experience working closely with UX/UI and systems engineers to ensure accurate implementation of accessible interfaces
* Experience working with tiered architectural systems and in a Linux/Ubuntu environment is a plus
