Service Worker​/Driver

The Senate Sergeant at Arms (SAA) is currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Service Worker Driver available within the Printing, Graphics, and Direct Mail team (PGDM). In this role, you will be responsible for the timely pickup and delivery of supplies, publications, materials, and equipment. Your duties will include maintaining both manual and computerized records, handling forms and work orders, loading and unloading trucks, and transporting IT equipment, office furniture, consumable supplies, historical documents, and artifacts for Senate offices, both on and off the Senate campus.

Additionally, you will perform inventory checks as necessary and ensure the proper storage and retrieval of items, moving and stocking supplies and materials in shelves, bins, and other designated storage areas.

This is a full‑time position primarily based at PGDM’s Senate Support Facility (SSF) in Landover, MD. However, the incumbent may also be required to provide support to the Capitol Hill team during peak workload periods or to accommodate staffing changes as needed. This role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., as well as engage in pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, kneeling, and entering and exiting a vehicle.

The position involves driving a large, loaded truck or vehicle through congested traffic, particularly around Capitol Hill.

Your responsibilities will extend to conducting inventories, staging, organizing, receiving, decommissioning, recycling, and disposing of items throughout the Senate complex. You will also be responsible for daily tracking of warehouse deliveries, activities, and statistics related to user requests.
