Transdev is hiring Safety Trainers at our WMATA location. We are looking for customer‑service oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.
Benefits- Competitive compensation: $27.26 – $32.08 per hour.
- Vacation: minimum two weeks.
- Sick days: five days.
- Holidays: 12 days (8 standard + 4 floating).
- 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, and voluntary long‑term disability.
- Provide classroom and/or behind‑the‑wheel training to new or current operators.
- Track attendees and maintain training documentation per regulations and company policy.
- Assume other safety‑program responsibilities such as accident investigation, form compliance, and safety meetings.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of training experience.
- 1–3 years of transportation, safety, or related experience.
- Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations.
- Computer‑literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and a physical if applicable.
- Work outdoors in varying temperatures, weather, and humidity; may work alone and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances and walk on sloped or uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds; lift material up to 50 lbs; bend, kneel, or crouch to retrieve equipment at ground level.
- Operate in heavy traffic areas; tolerate dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
