About the Role

As Fleet Manager, you will oversee all fleet maintenance, shop operations, regulatory compliance, and technician performance at our Maryland location. Your leadership will help ensure our motorcoach fleet remains safe, reliable, and ready to serve customers every day.

This position is ideal for a strong maintenance professional who combines technical knowledge with leadership skills and a commitment to operational excellence.

What You'll Do

Fleet Maintenance & Reliability
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs for a large motorcoach fleet
  • Ensure inspections, repairs, and service work are completed on schedule
  • Monitor vehicle performance, reliability, and fleet uptime
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records
  • Support troubleshooting and repair planning for complex vehicle issues
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop technicians and shop personnel
  • Create a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management
  • Establish clear expectations for productivity and quality workmanship
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and state regulations
  • Maintain inspection readiness and audit compliance
  • Oversee fleet safety programs and documentation
  • Promote safe work practices throughout the maintenance operation
Operations & Vendor Management
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with operations teams to minimize downtime
  • Manage relationships with outside vendors and service providers
  • Oversee parts inventory, purchasing, and cost control
  • Support budgeting and maintenance expense management
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve fleet reliability and efficiency
  • Implement best practices in maintenance management
  • Support company growth and fleet expansion initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of fleet maintenance, diesel maintenance, or heavy vehicle maintenance experience
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
  • Experience managing preventive maintenance programs
  • Ability to lead technicians and manage shop workflow effectively
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with motorcoaches, buses, commercial vehicles, or heavy‑duty diesel equipment
  • CDL or willingness to obtain one
  • Experience with fleet maintenance software systems
  • ASE certifications or equivalent technical certifications
  • Budgeting, forecasting, or cost‑management experience
