Position Summary
The Hearth Products Warehouse Support / Pellet Delivery Driver is responsible for the full cycle of all warehouse functions as well as ensuring our customers receive their pellets in a timely manner. The pellet delivery process involves loading the pellets on a flatbed truck, driving to the customer’s home, unloading and hand delivering the pellets into the homeowner’s garage, shed or any other storage location requested.
JobFunctions
- Always represent the company in a positive manner.
- Must immediately inform supervisor of any issues with stores, company vehicles or equipment when they arise.
- Participate in all company safety trainings.
- Load and Unload freight, containers, and trailers; including carrying out to sales floor or consumers home.
- Be “customer ready” whenever you are on the stage/sales floor.
- Uphold cleanliness standards (including, but not limited to, refraining from smoking in any Company-provided vehicle) in vehicles, work areas and customers’ homes or place of business.
- Participate in processing of new shipments and help the team to keep the receiving and warehousing area clean and organized.
- This position is a combination of a warehouse associate, delivery driver, and a hand loader/unloader of pellets and stacking them at homeowner’s property.
- Responsible for the on-time delivery of pellets to consumers home.
- Unloading the pellets and walking them to homeowners designated storage area (garage, shed, etc.).
- Stacking the bags of pellets at the homeowners designated areas.
- Pick-up and delivery to customers; must maintain company standards of customer service at all times.
- Be alert for possible merchandise losses. Protect all company assets and report any missing or damaged merchandise to your supervisor.
- Check condition of bags and box(es) to ensure that there is no damage.
- Load and unload cargo, or help others with loading and unloading.
- Help other co-workers with unloading and loading.
- Read transport documents to determine assignment details.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to vehicles.
- Perform any other duty as assigned.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and obtain a DOT Medical Card physical.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and their usage.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work in a team and assist others.

Frequent while assembling grills/furniture, sitting in truck during delivery. Stooping – Frequency:

Frequent to a height of 6 feet. Lifting – Frequency:
Frequent, up to 60 lbs., up to 500 repetitions per hour to a height of 4 feet (top of table); must be able to lift frequently. Hand Dexterity – Frequency:
Frequent, must be able to use two hands to carry boxes, grills and furniture. Pushing / Pulling – Frequency:
Frequent, load and unload freight. Carrying – Frequency:
Frequent, up to 100 lbs., up to 200 feet, occasionally more. Climbing – Frequency:
Infrequent, stairs in storage rooms, ladders, consumers homes. Vision – Frequency:
Constant, read labels, recognize boxes, safety in working and operating motor vehicle. Hearing – Frequency:
Constant, safety signals.
