Order Selector

Job Details:
Level – Experienced. Location – PJK Food Service LLC, Landover, MD 20785. Position Type – Full Time. Salary Range – $17.00–$18.00 hourly. Job Shift – Swing, starting 5PM until completion (often requires overtime). Schedule – Off Saturdays and one additional day during the week, excluding Sundays and Thursdays.

Order Selectors are the front line of all customer orders, preparing product from inventory for outbound shipping. They select customer orders and fulfill them quickly and accurately, including selecting, staging, palletizing, and loading to be delivered without damage or error.

• Reading customer orders accurately.
• Locating and selecting the specific warehouse items to fulfill the customer’s order.
• Operating Electric Riding Jack and other warehouse machinery to stack items and prepare orders for shipping.
• Placing the prepared orders in the correct dock slips for loading onto shipping trucks.
• Performing visual inspections of orders to ensure they are correct and ready for shipment.
• Labeling order shipments correctly for easy identification.
• Applying shrink wrap to the prepared order before shipping.
• Following warehouse safety procedures for the operation of equipment, such as wearing proper clothing, safe food handling, and maintaining awareness of surroundings and other workers when transporting items.
• Keeping the warehouse clean and organized at all times.

• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Requires repeated stooping and bending.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of boxes.
• Requires continuous standing for extended periods on electric pallet jacks.
• Working in a 35 degree Fahrenheit environment for 8-10 hours daily.
• Working in a damp environment for 8-10 hours daily.

• Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment (35-55 degrees).
• Must be able to stand, walk, reach and lift repeatedly up to 50 lbs throughout shift.
• Must be able to work scheduled, assigned times and required overtime for the position.
• Must be able to meet productivity goal of 1,100 cases per shift by 30 days.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years direct order pulling experience preferably in the produce industry.
• Warehouse distribution and produce knowledge.
• Electric Riding Jack experience required.
