Description:

Ryder is hiring a Warehouse Team Lead in Port Deposit, Maryland.

• Hourly Pay: $23.50 per hour
• Schedule:
  
  Thursday-Saturday 6:00 am – 6:00 pm and every other Wednesday 6:00 am – 6:00 pm

Note:

Some positions may require additional screening such as employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, or customer-specific background requirements.

• Products Being Handled:
  Retail items, etc.
• Equipment:
  Cherry Picker, Forklift, etc.

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations.
• Perform warehouse functions, including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and organize daily work duties to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics.
• Inspire and guide team members toward improved KPIs using appropriate leadership styles and methods.
• Orient new employees and provide the necessary information, technology and tools to perform their jobs.
• Promote health and safety practices within the warehouse.
• Manage day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse environment (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operational effectiveness and service levels.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One year or more powered industrial truck experience preferred
• One year or more previous experience as Team Lead preferred
• One year or more Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) preferred
• One year or more previous warehouse experience preferred
• Knowledge and/or experience with an RF scanner is preferred
• Valid forklift operator's license certified
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Effective leadership skills
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Excellent organizational skills
• Proactive approach to responsibilities
• Maintains composure under pressure
• Working using health and safety methods
• Bilingual (for Québec locations only)
