Position Overview

Ryder is hiring Warehouse Associates at Port Deposit, Maryland (21904). The role is full‑time and paid hourly at $20.00 per hour. This position is part of Ryder’s Safest Supply Chain Environment, using state‑of‑the‑art equipment such as cherry pickers, order pickers, pallet jacks, and forklifts.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum six months of related warehouse experience required (one year or more preferred)
  • Knowledge of operating powered industrial trucks (stand‑up and sit‑down forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, etc.) and basic maintenance; intermediate level required
  • Experience operating manual or automated warehouse/manufacturing equipment (e.g., packaging lines) preferred
  • Powered industrial truck certification
  • Basic reading and arithmetic skills in English for safety, work instructions, and policies
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Proficient in data entry using the WMS computer system(s) in use
  • Willingness to work overtime as assigned
  • Ability to build professional relationships at all organizational levels
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Fast‑paced, self‑driven, and flexible in operations
  • Strong multitasking, organization, and time‑management skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices
Responsibilities
  • Package, kit, and/or assemble orders and materials.
  • Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers, ensuring accurate scanning and training dock staff on new procedures; secure the facility at shift end and resolve scanning issues and housekeeping matters.
  • Perform picking and packing duties, checking for product or container damage.
  • Carry out assigned tasks in accordance with location policies and procedures, handling materials within associated logical transactions.
  • Execute material moves and related physical/logical transactions as required.
  • Participate in work groups and team activities to improve warehouse operations and related business functions.
  • Maintain housekeeping in one's assigned area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
