Part Time - ESL Instructor

Job Description

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

* Community College teaching experience in ESL reading, writing, grammar, conversation, listening and speaking. VESL experience in English for Computers, ECE, Math, and/or Employment also desirable.

Required Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications for instructors in English at California Community Colleges:

* Master's in TESL, TESOL, applied linguistics with a TESL emphasis, linguistics with a TESL emphasis, English with a TESL emphasis, or education with a TESL emphasis OR

* Bachelor's in TESL, TESOL, English with a TESL certificate, linguistics with a TESL certificate, applied linguistics with a TESL certificate, or any foreign language with a TESL certificate AND Master's in linguistics, applied linguistics, English, composition, bilingual/bicultural studies, reading speech, or any foreign language OR

* Possess a California Community College life credential in the subject matter area of English OR

* The equivalent

* EQUIVALENCY REQUIREMENT:
All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District (YCCD) by the application filing date. Alternatively, applicants must have obtained an equivalency determination from the District before the publication of the Recruitment Announcement.
