Adjunct Speech Instructor

Job Description

Description of Duties:

* Provide instruction for the full-range of the speech curriculum that includes public speaking, interpersonal communication, group discussion, argumentation, and intercultural communication

* Support and be capable of coaching a competitive College Forensic Program

* Prepare complete course syllabi and outlines, and work on articulation agreements with local colleges and schools

* Develop and maintain a relevant community college curriculum leading to certificate and degree completion in Speech Communication

* Adapt instructional techniques to accommodate varied learning styles and abilities to support student success

* Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses

* Participate in division, college and/or district-wide committees

* Be committed to, and participate in, the shared-governance process

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Master's in speech, speech broadcasting, telecommunications, rhetoric, communication, communication studies, speech communication, or organizational communication OR

* Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in drama/theater arts, mass communication, or English OR

* The equivalent
