Position: Ethnic Studies Instructor, Full Time - Tenure Track
Job Description

Yuba College seeks a strong, well-rounded, equity-minded Ethnic Studies educator. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience or potential to be an excellent instructor at a community college, and can provide leadership or contribute positively in areas such as: development of the Ethnic Studies program and curriculum; keeping course offerings up-to date and relevant; staying abreast of and communicating the current tr ends in Ethnic Studies education;

and collaborating with area high schools .

The successful candidate will demonstrate commitment to promoting and fostering a learning environment that is supportive of individuals from diverse backgrounds through effective communication and collaboration.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge of and ability to understand the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. Sensitivity to the needs, problems, and challenges associated with the diversity of the community college student population.

The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications for instructors in Ethnic Studies at California Community Colleges.

* Master's in African-American/Black/Africana Studies or Latino Studies, La Raza Studies, Chicana/a Studies, or Asian-American Studies, or Native American/ American Indian Studies ORMaster's in Ethnic Studies OR

* OR the equivalent. (Must apply through YCCD's Equivalency Application Process).

* EQUIVALENCY REQUIREMENT:
All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District (YCCD) by the application filing date. Alternatively, applicants must have obtained an equivalency determination from the District before the publication of the Recruitment Announcement. This ensures that candidates either meet the standard qualifications or have received official recognition of their equivalent qualifications  for YCCD's Equivalency Application.
