ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Provide leadership in the development and maintenance of a Yuba College curriculum leading to participation and completion of Ag‑Tech certificates and degree pathways.
- Develop and update course curricula to align with industry advancements, Ag‑Tech advisory recommendations, and regional workforce needs.
- Provide instruction in Agriculture Technology and Sciences, including Agriculture Engineering, Agricultural Production, and emerging Ag‑Tech fields. Sample topics include precision agriculture, precision harvesting, field and soil management, farm equipment operation, agriculture fabrication, hydraulics/fluid power, electronics, industrial automation, smart farming technologies, wireless control systems, autonomous equipment, PLC programming, GIS applications, systems integration, database management, robotics, sensor–based systems (e.g., Raspberry Pi, Arduino), warehouse management technologies, and more.
- Prepare complete course syllabi, outlines, and assessment materials; collaborate on articulation and dual enrollment agreements with local colleges and high schools.
- Utilize modern teaching methods, including applied lab experiences, industry–aligned projects, fieldwork, simulations, and online learning environments.
- Adapt instructional strategies to accommodate varied learning styles and support equitable student success.
- Teach day, evening, weekend, distance‑learning, accelerated, or point‑to‑point courses as assigned.
- Design, build, and test experiments for laboratory assignments.
- Provide hands‑on learning experiences such as fabrication labs, robotics workshops, precision technology exercises, and agricultural equipment operation and manufacturing simulations.
- Determine necessary equipment and materials; research, procure, and set up equipment for program delivery.
- Maintain, supervise, and track instructional equipment, technology systems, facilities, and grounds associated with the agriculture department.
- Support and integrate the college farm, land labs, and applied outdoor spaces into course instruction.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students across other career‑technical programs on campus to support interdisciplinary learning and project‑based education.
