Senior Civil Engineer – Sacramento Valley

Verdantas is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead and support a diverse portfolio of water resources and land development projects in the Sacramento Valley and surrounding regions. The role involves hands‑on project involvement, mentoring staff, and working closely with municipalities and developers to deliver infrastructure that supports growing communities.

• Lead technical design, modeling, and analysis for engineering projects.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Oversee field investigations, data collection, and construction oversight.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules in collaboration with project managers.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support team development.
• Participate in client meetings and contribute to proposal and business development efforts.
• Primarily office‑based with regular field visits; may involve travel to project sites and client meetings; fieldwork may include exposure to varying weather and terrain conditions.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 8-12 years of industry experience with water resources and land development projects.
• PE license in California; PLS or GE certification preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering principles, modeling tools, and design software (CAD).
• Experience mentoring junior staff and guiding project teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical documentation and client interaction.
• Ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and timelines.
• Analytical thinking and decision‑making in both field and office settings.
