Public Health Nurse Intern​/Public Health Nurse

The Ideal Candidate:

• Knowledgeable in public health best practices, health promotion, and prevention strategies that support health pregnancies, infants, children, and families.
• Maintains professionalism, sound judgment, and compassion in delivering client-centered care.

Public Health Nurse Intern
Minimum
:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing and possession of a license as a Registered Nurse.

Public Health Nurse
Minimum
:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing and possession of a license as a Registered Nurse and a Public Health Nurse certificate.

Preferred: In addition to the minimum, some experience in nursing.

• The ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver's license within ten (10) days of employment.
• Possess a valid license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California; must provide proof of re-certification within 10 calendar days prior to expiration.
• Possess a current valid CPR Certification or obtain with the first six months of employment; maintain valid certification.
• Must complete periodic continuing education coursework as required to maintain active licensure.
• Public Health Nurse Intern – The ability to obtain a valid certification as a Public Health Nurse in the State of California within 12 months of employment with proof of application within 3 months of date of hire.
• Public Health Nurse – Possess a valid certification as a Public Health Nurse in the State of California.

• Successfully complete an extensive and thorough background investigation which includes Live Scan fingerprinting prior to hire.
• DMV printout prior to hire.
• Will be required to perform disaster service activities pursuant to Government Code .
