Manufacturing Engineer, Engineering Design & Technologists
8 hour shift Monday to Friday, Weekend Availability.
General Purpose of PositionTo provide a product that meets customer expectations at a profit.
Responsibilities- Understand and work within prescribed project parameters.
- Concept, design, and detail projects.
- Obtain BTM Sales/Marketing/Customer feedback on new or improved designs.
- Check assemblies and details created in Product Development department.
- Research proposed standard product changes and improvements.
- Apply history of product changes, improvements, lessons learned to current projects.
- Recommend best way to change and/or improve product.
- Make drawing and documentation updates and design improvements to standard products.
- Assist designers and detailers.
- Work with machinists to ensure products are designed for manufacturing.
- Layout CAD templates.
- Inform related departments of standard product changes and updates.
- Work with Marketing department to provide drawings and engineering documentation to complete sales, service, and training literature.
- Follow documented QMS Procedures, Processes, and Work Instructions.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Engineering Manager.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and creativity
- Must be innovative.
- Able to organize work into logical steps.
- Communicate, cooperate, and coordinate with other departments.
- Prioritize and work well under pressure.
- Must have CAD skills. Solid Works is preferred.
- Three years detailing experience.
- Two years of design/layout experience.
- Knowledge of machining, methods of production, and build techniques.
- Knowledge of GD&T to keep cost of manufacturing design under control.
- Well versed in material properties and application for material.
- General knowledge of heat treatment.
- High School graduate.
- Associate degree in an Engineering field or 5 years CAD experience is preferred.
