Data Steward

We are looking for a Data Steward who will join our team at Scotts Miracle-Gro. This role will support the implementation and enhancement of our organization's data governance initiatives.

• Conduct thorough data quality assessments to identify discrepancies, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with data stewards and technical teams to implement corrective measures and enhance overall data quality.
• Manage and enhance metadata repositories, documenting data lineage, definitions, and relationships.
• Assist in the classification of data based on sensitivity and business impact.
• Generate and present regular reports on the status of data governance initiatives, data quality metrics, and adherence to policies.
• Support compliance with data protection laws and regulations, and help implement protections for sensitive data.
• Assist in the development and delivery of training programs to enhance data governance awareness.
• Participate in data impact assessments for new projects, system changes, or data migrations.
• Collaborate with project teams to assess potential risks and ensure alignment with data governance standards.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in data governance, data analysis, or a related analytical role.
• Programming experience (e.g., Python, SQL).
• Experience with data integration and data virtualization tools such as AWS Glue, Informatica, or Mule Soft.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Strong understanding and hands‑on experience with data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or Alation.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Familiarity with data quality tools and metadata management concepts.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Salary range: $87,600.00 – $ per year. The role is incentive eligible under our corporate bonus programs.
