Imagine starting a run: you select the right tooling, secure the workpiece with precision, and set controls so cutting speeds and feed rates match the spec. As the first parts come off the machine, you verify performance, correct what’s needed, and keep the process safe and consistent. When something’s off, you report it immediately and remove nonconforming material before it can impact quality.

• Prepare and operate tools, machinery, and equipment per instructions and specifications.
• Choose, place, and firmly secure all required tools.
• Position and clamp work pieces on machine tables or holding devices using clamps and wrenches.
• Monitor each machine closely to confirm quality performance.
• Set and fine-tune controls to regulate machine operation.
• Inspect tooling routinely; repair or replace when necessary.
• Validate machine readiness and performance against specifications, including fixtures, cutting speeds, and feed rates.
• Alert the immediate supervisor to any problems as soon as they arise.
• Serve as the department communicator in status meetings, management updates, and at shift change.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that never compromises safety.
• Deliver work that is safe, consistent, and aligned with quality standards.
• Identify, tag, and remove any nonconforming materials.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Coordinate effectively with other departments when needed.
• Keep work areas clean and well organized.
• Comply with all company rules and policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
