Lunchroom Administrator
St. John’s Lutheran School – Marysville, Ohio
Position type:
Part‑time.
Responsible to:
Principal, as well as the Church and School Business Administrator.
- Committed to the mission and vision of the Church and School.
- Administer personnel policies and evaluations of personnel.
- Plan long‑term food service personnel requirements.
- Administer the National School Lunch Program (NLSP).
- Coordinate central storage operations, including record keeping, distribution, inventory, and commodities.
- Develop proper methods for receiving, storing, and distributing food supplies and inventory control.
- Review and evaluate requests for purchases of new and replacement equipment with the Head Cook.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of department training programs.
- Provide adequate orientation and in‑service training to all food service personnel, including substitutes.
- Prepare a budget and financial plan with the Principal.
- Apply for NLSP school cafeteria use and distribute the transfer of the same.
- Maintain financial records and reports, including accounts for the food service operation, government food applications, and inventory of government commodities.
- Handle government paperwork, including opening and closing the school year.
- Bills students and adults for purchased lunches.
- Make bank deposits and pay distributor invoices.
- Type and distribute lunch menus, class lists for teachers to track purchased lunches, and lunch count slips.
- Coordinate day‑to‑day processing and the computerized system with the school in coordination of payment.
- Maintain the computerized program, incorporating governmental revisions as they occur.
- Coordinate bidding processes, contract management, and product bids and service administration.
- Promote the food service program to the community, staff, students, and families.
- Participate in professional meetings related to the food service program.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Principal.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk or hear. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch. Must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- High school diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age, or meet state licensing requirements.
- Maintain required training and certifications for state/federal background checks and St. John’s standards.
- Salary:
Commensurate with experience (bookkeeper duties include $250 monthly for 9 months). - Fringe benefits:
