Job Purpose

The Specialist coordinates activities across multiple divisions and stakeholders to drive specification standardization across indirect categories to support Honda Motor’s business transformation and sustainability initiatives. This position plays a key role in optimizing procurement processes, reducing complexity, and enabling data-driven decision-making across multiple spend categories.

Key Accountabilities
  • Stakeholder Management — Facilitate collaboration between internal (NAIP) and external stakeholders through Specification Development Council forums to align standardization objectives, goals, plans, and outcomes.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting — Analyze spend, usage patterns, and SKU proliferation to identify duplication and rationalization opportunities; partner with data and analytics teams to develop dashboards, reports, and tools to support ongoing standardization tracking.
  • Continuous Improvement — Research, identify, analyze, and implement improvement opportunities across end-to-end specification standardization processes and other NAIP-related initiatives.
  • Change Management — Lead change management efforts to drive adoption of standardized specifications across internal functions.
Qualifications, Experience, & Skills
  • Minimum Education al Qualifications — Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum Experience — 3+ years of experience in indirect procurement, supply chain, or a related technical field.
  • Other Job-Specific Skills — Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), familiarity with procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba) and data analysis tools such as Excel and Power BI; demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively, with a focus on continuous improvement and achieving goals; ability to build and maintain strong relationships with category management teams and suppliers to encourage collaboration and transparency;

    self-motivated and results-driven, with a strong sense of purpose. Supports company direction and fosters an environment aligned with Honda’s success while modeling Honda Philosophy principles and Core Values.
