We are recruiting an experienced Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), Senior Analyst who will join our Strategy Team reporting to the Director of Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A).
This position will be based at The Scotts Miracle-Gro world headquarters in Marysville, a suburb roughly 30 minutes outside of downtown Columbus, OH. While this role requires in-office presence, we offer a hybrid working model that can be flexible based on personal and professional priorities.

The M&A Senior Analyst is a key contributor to the Strategy team, working on high-visibility projects that support the Company’s top initiatives. This role will be responsible for target analysis and deal sourcing, including conducting industry research and creating financial models to identify potential M&A targets that fit within our strategic priorities. Other responsibilities include managing M&A projects from cross-functional diligence through integration planning and deal closing.
There will be opportunities to support the broader strategy function with strategic planning initiatives, competitive intelligence gathering, and special projects.

Responsibilities- Research, evaluate and summarize potential M&A targets using strategic frameworks and valuation modeling to determine strategic fit
- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams, focusing on planning, coordinating and executing transaction-related due diligence and integration planning activities
- Plan and facilitate meetings to reach conclusions/consensus; monitor projects and solve problems to keep projects moving forward
- Identify and track risks, actions, issues, decisions, dependencies, and synergies to ensure successful diligence and integration
- Support a wide range of high-visibility projects to answer urgent strategic questions from C-level executives
- Collaborate with a team of high performers to complete ad hoc and recurring market and competitive research tasks
- Work with senior executives and business units to identify and define initiatives that support corporate/business unit strategy
- Create presentations to communicate the status and results of due diligence and integration activities to project teams and senior executives
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a M&A environment including due diligence coordination and/or post-merger integration, in a management/strategic consulting firm, investment bank, or strategy team of an acquisitive organization
- Self-motivation, strong organizational skills, quantitative, spreadsheet, and presentation abilities; a proactive, reliable attitude to meet deadlines
- Proven success in leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in Project Management, Financial Modeling (NPV, IRR), Strategic Planning (integration strategies and plans), and Stakeholder Communication
- Relationship building with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and the ability to drive second-order insights
- Ability to work in a changing, ambiguous environment and meet aggressive deadlines
- Advanced skill level in Excel and Google Workspace
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business, Finance, or Economics

The starting budgeted pay range for this role generally falls between $99,700.00 - $ per year. Scotts will consider factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, and location. For remote roles where the final candidate resides in Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oregon or Washington, state pay thresholds will be factored into base salary.
