We are currently accepting resumes for a Senior Electrical Controls Engineer to join our client's growing team. This position will be responsible for specifying hardware and designing schematics for automated systems, writing PLC logic and developing HMI screens as well as coordinating with the robotics integration team to ensure seamless integration between robots and other hardware incorporated into the system.
The controls engineer will have the opportunity to see each project through from design to installation and ultimately buy off at the customer's site. The successful candidate will have prior machine building experience currently or formerly working for an automation and robotics integrator or having been part of an OEM's new equipment development team.

- The Controls Engineer will coordinate the build of their design and fully debug their software.
- Utilize CAD to create schematic drawings based on customer standards.
- Development of hardware drawings and bill of materials
- Design PLC ladder logic using Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or other programing software to control automated systems
- Create HMI screens to accompany PLC logic
- Coordinate programming the initial setup and structure of robots
- Integrate and troubleshoot programs during initial build
- Support installation at customer's site
- Work alongside technicians to confirm proper integration
- Review and verify existing customer equipment
- Converse with engineers and customers to ensure high quality design.
- Evaluate electrical systems, products, and components to ensure efficiency and innovation during design
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering preferred
- 5+ years experience will be considered in lieu of education
- 3+ years of PLC experience
- Ability to create and understand ladder logic
- Experience using Allen Bradley or Mitsubishi software package
- Experience with HMI programming software
- Experience using AutoCAD Electrical or EPlan
- Experience with Fanuc, Kuka, Yaskawa or ABB robotics
- Ability to design industrial power distribution circuitry
- Possess strong problem-solving skills in order to identify and troubleshoot issues
- Knowledge of current RIA, TUV, and industrial electrical safety standards
