Responsibilities
- Setup and run hydraulic tests to support the development of the company's line of products under direction of Engineering.
- Review project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions.
- Identify, document, and mitigate any observed safety hazards encountered while working. Maintain a high level of safety awareness while performing work activities.
- Construction of test circuits; including proper selection of instrumentation, set‑up of instrumentation and assuring instrumentation is calibrated; and assembly/disassembly of test components.
- Conduct tests as directed in the engineering laboratory including reporting the test results.
- Perform repair, adjustment, installation, removal, and connection of laboratory test equipment including electrical systems. When necessary, assist or direct subcontractors in lab maintenance or improvement.
- With guidance/instructions from technical staff, must be able to record test data; perform basic calculations for power, efficiency, etc.; make graphs from collected data; manipulate electronic photos; assist in evaluation of collected data and results; etc.
- Associates degree or equivalent from two‑year college or technical school preferred; will consider work experience in lieu of education.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to interpret documents, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as flows, powers, efficiencies, area, circumference and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Experience utilizing hand tools.
- Ability to use basic measuring instruments.
- Good troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision / guidance.
- Work ranges between light to heavy, consisting of frequent exertion of lifting from 10 to 24 lbs. Requires standing throughout work shift.
